Don't let Beamsville's 150 year old fairgrounds be turned into yet another housing development.

Beamsville, Ontario has one of the few remaining historic fairgrounds located at its heart - in the town centre.

It is the last remnant of character left in a village that once epitomized the farming pioneers that have made this area famous for its tender fruit and, more recently, world class wines.

Once it is gone, it is gone forever and leaves behind a piece-meal collection of developments full of people with no place to gather, work or play.

It's not too late!

An offer has been made by Desantis Homes Inc. to purchase the fairgrounds land. This offer is conditional upon rezoning by the Town of Lincoln. The application for rezoning the land, which is currently zoned open space, has not yet been submitted. The fairgrounds land is owned by the Lincoln Agricultural Society (LAS) a non-profit organization entrusted with the operation of the Lincoln County Fair. The offer has been accepted by the LAS but, again, conditional not only on the rezoning of the fairgrounds, but also the rezoning of the land they wish to purchase on the Niagara Escarpment. Therefore, now is the time to speak up and voice your opinion on this critical point in our town's history. Read through the pages of this site and return often to get up to date information on what's happening and what you can do about it.
